Dr. Roycroft has worked in the telecommunications field since 1991.  Dr. Roycroft was a faculty member in the McClure School from 1994 to 2004, and rejoined the faculty in 2013.  In addition, Dr. Roycroft has done extensive work as a consultant for consumer advocacy groups in the United States and Canada.

Dr. Roycroft’s published research is focused on the public utility, telecommunications and information technology sectors, especially with regard to the relationship between market forces, public policy and regulation. Dr. Roycroft’s research has addressed a wide range of issues including: broadband adoption, the impact of dynamic pricing on low-income consumers, the limits of competition in telecommunications markets, the impact of alternative regulation on telephone company quality of service, and Internet access in developing nations.
